About the BMMA

The Broadband Multimedia Marketing Association (BMMA) connects telco broadband providers and vendors to share industry insights and foster collaboration. Established in 2003, we help members enhance visibility and profitability. Membership is open to anyone in the broadband sector.

Committees

We’re looking for telco broadband professionals to join our committees. Help shape the industry and get recognized for your contributions.

Benchmarking Committees

  • Identify and define relevant benchmarking elements.
  • Participate in reporting on results at the BMMA Annual Meeting.
  • The Executive Director will establish the benchmarking template, collect and analyze data, and develop individual reports.
Consumer Benchmarking Committee

Goal: Identify and execute semi-annual consumer benchmarking reports.

SMB Benchmarking Committee

Goal: Identify and execute semi-annual SMB benchmarking reports

Best in Class Award Committee

  • Review existing awards programs and make recommendations for change.
  • Recommend a membership communications plan.
  • Review award submissions and recommend winners to the Board of Directors.  
  • Report on results at the Annual meeting.
  • Executive Director Responsibilities:

    • Update the website application process based on committee recommendations.
    • Execute the recommended communications plan.
    • Consolidate award submissions for committee review.
    • Coordinate awards selection and purchase.
    • Present awards to the winners at the Annual meeting.
    • Follow up with PR opportunities.
    Best in Class Award Committee

    Goal: Recognize up to 4 individuals or teams demonstrating innovation or excellence in broadband marketing.

    Best in Class Awards
    • Marketing: Awarded to a service provider and a vendor for innovation or excellence in broadband marketing.
    • Marketing Partnership: Awarded to two or more members for successfully implementing a marketing program.

    Internet of Things (IoT) Committee

    • Identify market needs, opportunities, and obstacles to be investigated.
    • Develop a plan of action to take advantage of these opportunities.
    • Determine budget and set goals for plan execution.
    • Assist with reporting on progress at BMMA face-to-face meetings.

    Executive Director Responsibilities:

    • Execute the committee's recommendations.
    • Report on results at BMMA face-to-face meetings.

    Goal: Identify and drive the execution of activities and actions to assist BMMA members in the development and growth of the IoT market.

    Marketing Committee

    • Identify opportunities and obstacles to be investigated.
    • Determine budget and set goals, including:
      • Encouraging promotion of the BMMA within member companies.
      • Creating sessions and materials to spread the word.
      • Gathering and using testimonials.
      • Recommending updates to the BMMA website.
    • Report out at the Annual meeting.

    Executive Director Responsibilities:

    • Execute the committee's recommendations.
    • Report on results at the Annual meeting.

    Goal: Improve the marketing of the association to potential, new member companies and individuals within existing member companies.

    Membership Committee

    • Oversee all BMMA membership activities.
    • Identify potential new members.
    • Supervise the recruitment of new members.
    • Approve membership applications.
    • Recommend new membership dues to the BMMA.  

    Executive Director Responsibilities:

    • Actively recruit new members.
    • Collect membership applications from prospective new members.
    • Submit applications for membership to the Membership Committee for approval.
    • Formally welcome each new member company.

    Goal: Increase awareness of the BMMA as an effective tool for broadband service providers and vendors, and increase membership.

    Research Committee

    • Identify valuable research for the BMMA membership.
    • Provide input and edits to surveys prior to implementation.
    • Participate in reporting on results at the Annual Meeting.

    Executive Director Responsibilities:

    • Provide support to the committee by drafting, editing, coding, and executing surveys.
    • Provide expert market research methodology and analysis guidance.
    • Collect survey results, perform data analysis, and produce reports.
    • Report on year-end results at the Annual Meeting and Fall Workshop.

    Research Types:

    • Internal: Continue polling the BMMA membership on various issues (e.g., modems, WiFi).
    • External: Survey consumers, SMBs, etc., on broadband service-related issues agreed upon by the committee.

    Goal: Drive and oversee market research delivered to the membership as an additional benefit.
