Executive Director
New research and innovative programs for improving health care are increasing in number and sophistication. However, reimbursement and administrative challenges (for example, Medicare Part D) continue to stimulate us to find new and better ways to continue to make health insurance available and affordable.
A key part of our success will be linked to discovering and sharing new information in this area. With this in mind, it is a great pleasure to announce a number of new innovations at BMMA. First, as you can see, we have redesigned our web site. Our goal is to provide a cleaner interface with clearer navigational tools to assist you in taking advantage of our resources.
Next, in response to your requests and comments, we are offering online CE and CME courses at our brand new web site www.bmma.cecity.com. Many of you have commented on the difficulty obtaining adequate continuing education credits now that you work in administrative environments. You no longer have easy access to a weekly grand rounds or a noon conference accredited for your specialty. Indeed, many executives are struggling to meet their educational requirements. In addition, we have heard that much of the educational content you receive is not geared toward clinician/executives. Instead, it contains information and detail more appropriate for the practicing clinician and not as helpful for clinician executives.
In response to these issues, BMMA has developed a solution to assist you with these problems. Through our new web site www.bmma.cecity.com, you will be able to obtain online CE/CME credits whenever and wherever it is convenient for you. In addition, BMMA will provide educational programs relevant for clinician executives, not just practicing physicians. Our new web site will track your CE/CME progress and let you print out certificates from programs you complete on demand so you can easily access them when needed. Also, the web site can be used to track your progress toward meeting your state’s goal for educational credits in a password protected site. Our goal is to make accessing and tracking relevant clinician-executive educational services readily available. The end result is to supply you with additional knowledge and tools for managing your health plan and being more effective in your work.
Lastly, take a look at our all new website for BioAsTec, www.bioastec.com, our technology assessment service. We have given it an all new interface to provide easier access and more up to date resources. Are there assessments you would like to see that aren’t included there? Please email us and let us know at customerservice@bmma.org. Unfortunately, due to the complete redesign of www.bioastec.com ,we were unable to save previous logons and passwords. However, the new logon page is simple and easy. It will quickly provide you with a new username and password. It also contains a quick link to email you your username and password if you forget it in the future.
Again, we appreciate your continued support and interest in the Association. Please contact us at any time if we can be of additional service.
Best regards,
Mark G. Fuller, MD, FACP
