About Us

BMMA began in 1993 by a group of managed care physicians and pharmacists representing the health plan/payor community who were responsible for establishing medical and drug policies and the administration of medical and pharmacy benefits.  The group began to explore the common establishment of policy standards and format, to focus on patient selection standards, payment protocols, and pharmacoeconomic impact.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to establish a forum for the exchange of ideas and information between all members of the health care community in support of making our health care system more effective and efficient. By bringing together leading medical and pharmacy directors, researchers, opinion leaders and other experts we seek to create a unique environment for discussion, debate and learning.
